Bio

I got into grad school for linguistics. Hurray! But as much as I love school, I've already taken a bit of a detour before, and now I really want to finish as quickly as I can.

I have a few months before school starts, and I've been trying to come up with some viable research topics. While my original idea of working towards automatically finding constructions from a corpus seemed promising, I have no concrete strategy. I've been reading a fair bit and checking out research on construction grammar, computational semantics, syntactic categories . . . but I've got some ways to go.

So, this blog is mostly for me to make sure I keep moving forward. But I invite you, dear readers, to follow along on my quest for a topic, and thence a thesis! Will he graduate on time? Will he end up taking his sweet time? Or will he fail out and have to . . . get a real job?
